Ten Thousand Villages
What: Find folk art, heirloom-quality home décor, ceramics, textiles, baskets, jewelry and musical instruments at Ten Thousand Villages, a fair-trade retailer of home décor, accessories and gifts. The store has an artisan network of more than 130 groups in 38 countries in Africa, Latin America, East Asia, the Middle East and South Asia.

Frosty Darling
What: You’ll feel like you’ve stepped into the candy store from “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” when you enter Frosty Darling, a bright, charming, 1950s vintage gift boutique and treat shop. The store specializes in retro-modern art, crafts, gifts, furniture and jewelry, many of it handmade by local artists (including store owner Gentry Blackburn).

Three French Hens
What: One customer on the Three French Hens site called it the place for “random trinkets, gaudy-looking objects, home décor, soaps, furniture, jewelry and accessories,” and she’s right. Located in the Foothill Village, Three French Hens is moderately-priced shoe store and furniture store with eclectic pieces and varying inventory.

Second Hand Chic
What: This home goods, furniture, accessories and women’s clothing store is organized by color, so if you know the hue you’re looking for, you’re sure to find design inspiration in that section of the store, as well as adjacent ones. Prices vary for the items, which range from vintage to modern, but sometimes are marked up to half off if you go at the right time.
